ACEP Members in the News

  • Dr. Anita Bangale from George Washington University, was named Best Resident Presenter and Dr. Brian W. Lin from Stanford/Kaiser Emergency Medicine Residency was named Best Faculty Discus-sant in the 2009 National Emer-gency Medicine Clinical Pathological Case finals, held during ACEP's Scientific Assembly.

    The runner-up for Best Resident Presenter was Dr. Brian J. Baker from NYU/Bellevue, and the runner-up for Best Faculty Discussant was Dr. John McCourt from the University of Nevada.

  • Dr. Amy Zheng from the Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System was given the Rising Star Speaker Award for her presentation, "A Sight for Sore Eyes: Pearls on Ocular Ultrasound," during the New Speakers Forum at ACEP's Scientific Assembly.

    The Honorable Mention was awarded to Dr. Frederick J. Trayers III from the Naval Medical Center San Diego for "Wielding Wit and Wisdom: Incorporating Art with Science for a Better Presentation."

  • Dr. Ben Lenhart, Dr. Kelly Gray-Eurom, and Dr. David Caro from the emergency medicine residency program at the University of Florida's College of Medicine were awarded first place in the 2009 Teaching Innovations on Coping with Crowding Abstract Contest, which took place during ACEP's Scientific Assembly.

    The emergency medicine residency program from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Memorial Hermann Hospital received second place.
