Print-Friendly Version

Researchers on behalf of the Emergency Medicine Action Fund (EMAF) have created an acute care health policy bibliography built around the model by Dr. Brent Asplin. The updated conceptual model includes an input component (conditions, events or system characteristics that contribute to the demand for acute care services), a throughput section (processes that impact quality and efficiency of care delivery), and an output section (factors that influence a patient’s disposition after the acute care episode).
