Dr. John M. Geesbreght, Dr. Michael L. Hochberg and Dr. Bonnie Simmons are the recipients of the 2013 Emergency Department Director of the Year Distinguished Recognition Awards, which are given each year by Blue Jay Consulting and the Emergency Medicine Foundation.
Dr. Geesbreght is the Director of Emergency Medicine at Texas Health Harris Methodist in Fort Worth and is a Past President of the ACEP’s Texas Chapter.
Dr. Hochberg is the ED Director at St. Peters University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., and is chair of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine’s Community Based Academic Physician Task Force.
Dr. Simmons is Senior Vice President and Chair of Emergency Medicine at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., and he has served on ACEP’s Clinical Policies Committee.
