The ACEP State Advocacy Dashboard is now updated with details from all 50 states. This members-only resource is a hub for the latest state policy, regulatory, and advocacy activity, so you can easily see what is happening where you practice on the issues that matter most.

The content for each state has been populated using input from staff research as well as insights from ACEP Chapter leadership and state medical associations. ACEP and OpenEvidence Expand Access to Emergency Medicine Resources

ACEP and OpenEvidence, the leading artificial intelligence (AI) -powered medical search and decision-support platform, announced a partnership to integrate ACEP Clinical Policies and educational content into OpenEvidence. Emergency physicians are among the largest medical specialties on the OpenEvidence platform.

This partnership will enable support for tens of thousands of emergency physicians’ clinical decisions at the point of care.

“We are very pleased that the OpenEvidence platform will feature ACEP policies, point-of-care tools and educational materials,” said ACEP President L. Anthony Cirillo, MD, FACEP. “This collaboration will greatly enhance our ability to support our members at the bedside, where lifesaving decisions are made every day.”

This collaboration reinforces ACEP’s commitment to responsibly integrate AI into clinical practice, as well as ACEP’s leadership in emergency medicine education and policy.

Study Looks at Gender Representation at EM Conferences

A recent study in Annals of Emergency Medicine tracked gender representation among speakers invited to give presentations at the 2022 and 2023 annual meetings of ACEP, the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM), and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM). The study, “Gender Representation Among Invited Physician Speakers at EM Conferences,” identified trends in the representation of women physician speakers.

Data were collected from publicly available conference programs, online resources, or the genderize.io tool. Gender representation was evaluated using generalized estimating equations.
