ACEP Now was recently recognized with APEX Awards for Publication Excellence. Our May 2020 magazine, produced during the early months of the COVID-19 crisis, won an APEX Grand Award (top honors) in the “Magazines, Journals, and Tabloids” category. Our Equity Equation column, a regular feature in the magazine originated by former Medical Editor in Chief Jeremy Faust, MD, MS, MA, FACEP, and curated by Jenice Baker, MD, FACEP; Uché Blackstock, MD; and Dara Kass, MD, was recognized in the “Regular Departments and Columns” section. Some of our 2020 Equity Equation columns on microaggressions, gender discrimination, and social determinants of health were among our most-read articles of the year.
