ACEP is accepting abstracts until April 26 for the 2013 Research Forum. Abstracts will be peer reviewed for presentation Oct. 14-15 in Seattle, Wash. Abstracts will be accepted that are judged scientifically valid and that yield important information that will ultimately affect patient care.
Abstracts submitted or the resultant manuscripts must not appear in a referenced journal before publication of the meeting abstracts in the October 2013 issue of Annals of Emergency Medicine and must not have been presented at a national meeting.
Abstracts will be reviewed for oral or poster presentation. Oral presentations will be allowed 10 minutes, followed by discussion.
Poster presentations will be grouped by topic and will be scheduled during the program. The Research Committee will review abstracts blinded to authors.
Notification letters will be mailed on or before July 1, 2013.

ABEM Corner: ABEM Elects Three Directors
At its winter meeting the Board of Directors of the American Board of Emergency Medicine elected three new directors, Dr. Michael S. Beeson, Dr. John Ma and Dr. Lewis S. Nelson.
Dr. Beeson is a professor and program director in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Akron General Medical Center/Northeast Ohio Medical University, in Akron.
Dr. Ma is a professor and chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), chair of the OHSU Professional Board (Chief of Staff), and chief of Emergency Medical Services, OHSU/Doernbecher Hospitals and Clinics in Portland.
Dr. Nelson is a professor and vice chair for academic affairs in the Department of Emergency Medicine, NYU School of Medicine; director for the fellowship in Medical Toxicology, NYU School of Medicine and New York City Poison Control Center; associate medical director, New York City Poison Control Center, Bureau of Laboratories, New York City Department of Health; and attending physician, Department of Emergency Medicine, Bellevue Hospital Center and New York University Medical Center.
