If you agree, I hope you will join me in contributing to EMF at a level that makes you comfortable. I am in a single hospital group, and I have contributed $1,972 because I want to make sure that emergency medicine has a voice in the care of our patients and the health care systems of the future.

We understand that you have a lot of choices. When you donate to a charity, I’m asking that you consider EMF. With 40-plus years of EMF-funded research, the way we deliver patient care, manage our practice and invest in health policy has impacted our specialty in at least one million ways.

If you have contributed to EMF already this year, I ask that you consider an additional donation, and if you have not contributed, I ask that you give what you can.

Can we count on you to reach our $1 million goal?

Dr. Kivela is managing partner of the Napa Valley Emergency Medical Group in California and a member of the ACEP Board of Directors.

Editor’s note: the 1972 Club, made up of those who’ve contributed $1972 (or more) in a fiscal year, was established last year in recognition of the 40th anniversary of EMF’s founding in 1972.
