The College’s president-elect, Dr. Angela F. Gardner, suggests that, in addition to submitting a curriculum vitae with the form, members should also explain their qualifications and experiences relevant to a particular committee or task force.

Members are also encouraged to contact their chapter to obtain support for their appointment.

Most committee work will be accomplished through e-mail, correspondence, and conference calls, and committee members are expected to attend the organizational meetings at Scientific Assembly in Boston Oct. 5-8, 2009.

A list of current ACEP committees, members, objectives, and annual reports are on ACEP’s Web site.

Typically, the types of committees are the same every year.

However, task forces are appointed on an as-needed basis if an issue warrants attention, and appointment terms are usually for a single year.

Member interest and qualifications will be matched with College needs.

The online interest form is available on ACEP’s Web site at www.acep.org/CommitteeInterest.aspx.

The deadline for submitting com-mittee interest forms is May 15, and appointments will be made in June.

For more information about committee involvement, please contact Rochelle Ross in ACEP’s Office of the Executive Director at 800-798-1822, ext. 3145, or send an e-mail to rross@acep.org.
