ACEP has won the coveted CPT Excellence in Education Award from the American Medical Association (AMA).
ACEP was recognized for the material on the organization’s website that advances the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code set and appeals to a broad audience far beyond the emergency medicine community.
“The American College of Emergency Physicians has assembled an impressive array of educational materials including books, courses, webpages, webinars, and other outreach programs designed for members of their specialty,” according to Ken Brin, MD, PhD, chairman of the CPT Editorial Panel. “These efforts demonstrate considerable ongoing organizational commitment to excellence in education.”
The award was conferred at the AMA CPT Annual Advisory Committee meeting in February 2016.
ACEP Reimbursement Director David A. McKenzie, CAE, was on hand to accept the award. ACEP’s Coding and Nomenclature Advisory Committee and the Reimbursement Committee developed the content.
