On Aug. 3, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services issued its major annual Medicare payment proposed rule. The next day, ACEP sent a letter to Congress expressing grave concerns with the proposed cuts and calling to waive budget neutrality requirements to avert the cuts that pose a significant threat to emergency physicians and the health care safety net.
