In early September, ACEP submitted a comprehensive response to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS’) Calendar Year (CY) 2022 Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) and Quality Payment Program (QPP) proposed regulation. The rates included in the PFS often serve as the basis on which many private payers revise their reimbursement levels. The regulation also includes updates to the Merit-based Incentive Payment System, the quality performance program established by the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act.
