On Jan. 3, 2019, ACEP Executive Director Dean Wilkerson, MBA, JD, CAE, announced the promotion of Bobby Heard, MBA, CAE, to chief operating officer (COO). As ACEP’s budget, staffing, and activities have more than doubled in the last 14 years, Mr. Wilkerson realized ACEP needed a strong COO to help manage the organization. “Having Bobby assume the COO role will enable me to do more strategic external-facing activities for ACEP’s mission,” Mr. Wilkerson said.
