Jahnavi Curlin, MD, MPH, is the newest member of ACEP Now’s editorial team. Dr. Curlin is a third-year emergency medicine resident at the University of California, San Francisco Fresno (UCSF), training in California’s Central Valley.

As the 2026–27 Resident Fellow, Dr. Curlin will oversee the “Resident Voice” column while contributing the perspective of emergency medicine residents to the editorial board. Dr. Curlin also will contribute to ACEP’s conversation series about news and essential topics in emergency medicine on clinical practice and decision making for emergency physicians.

Her interests include health equity, social emergency medicine, and travel medicine, alongside a passion for narrative medicine and using writing to bridge the gap between clinical care and the human stories it holds.

Dr. Curlin received her bachelor’s degree from Harvard College, her medical degree from UCSF School of Medicine where she was a PRIME-US scholar, and her master’s degree in public health from UC Berkeley.
